Other Ways Of Giving

Gifts in Kind

These gifts are non-monetary contributions such as furniture, art, computers, and carpet.

Gifts in Securities

Making a gift of appreciated stock or bonds to BMS can be more advantageous than cash. If you give appreciated securities held longer than one year, you can deduct their market value, regardless of what you originally paid for them. You pay no capital gains on the donated securities. With these savings, the actual cost of your gift is less than if you had made a cash gift.

Capital Campaign

Gifts are raised for some special purpose, such as new buildings or endowment funds. Capital campaign gifts are above and beyond regular annual fund donations. In September 2002, Baltimore Medical System officially kicked off its first capital campaign fundraising effort. Our initial goal is to raise $550,000.00

Volunteer Opportunities

Become more connected to Baltimore Medical System by volunteering. Some of the ways in which you can give a helping hand:

  • Help with management of bulk mailings
  • Tour a Center
  • Volunteer at a Center
  • Sit on a planning committee
  • Host a parlor meeting
  • Outreach to your neighborhood
  • Beautify a Center by maintaining an aquarium
